Most people regard it as an afterlife. Heaven or hell or perhaps something in between. Not me. You see, I don’t believe in an afterlife. I get one shot. That’s it. No dress rehearsal. When I die, it’s game over, no respawns, no continues. It’s for this reason that I put infinitely more value on the Reverend Red Magehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02623896752253659976noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082758557055956380.post-89039018933492471312014-02-18T23:39:00.001-05:002014-02-18T23:39:23.495-05:00Pathfinder Campaign: Part 1This is a crosspost from An Ominous Shadow. On my departure date, though, I sat down at the gate and not 2 minutes later was I told that all United flights were shut down for the day. I kind of expected it, so it looks like I had to re-book my departure for a second time. Three days later, I got off the ground with no hassle.

Yes. I'm desperate. It's driven me to a very dark place in my mind, and I don't want to stay there. I'm in a severe bind for the next three weeks.
If you want to help, right now this is the only way I know how you can do so.
Click the button. Give what you can, if anything. There is one question that seems to pop out every now and then, and every time I manage to find the answer, I become so afraid of it that the question goes into remission for a while until I decide to look up the answer again. It’s the kind of question that kind of makes you think about the Reverend Red Magehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02623896752253659976noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082758557055956380.post-65795846167654730312013-09-15T20:59:00.001-04:002013-09-15T20:59:23.455-04:00Cool Story, BroOr, non-sarcastically, “awesome timing, bro.” So today I went to the local Renaissance fair, King Richard’s Faire, with a few friends. It was a pretty good time; drank some beer, watched some shows, and fired some arrows. (Not necessarily in that order, though…) We also saw the cutest little tiger cubs, which oddly was the highlight of the day. Naturally, in the middle of all the walking and Reverend Red Magehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02623896752253659976noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082758557055956380.post-7232747619766528332013-06-18T17:40:00.001-04:002013-06-18T17:40:22.044-04:00Saving is ImportantSo I was playing Final Fantasy X the other night. I was doing some level grinding in the Omega Ruins for the first time, after feeling like I was ready due to obtaining Caladbolg, Nirvana, and all the summons. …before I continue, for those of you who don’t know: The Omega Ruins is an optional dungeon in the game and is filled with powerful fiends, although not nearly as difficult as some of Reverend Red Magehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02623896752253659976noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082758557055956380.post-66826850557178251092013-05-05T15:41:00.001-04:002013-05-05T15:41:49.835-04:00Game Reviews: Bioshock Infinite The wait proved to be worth it; Bioshock Infinite is a fantastic adventure that delivers on all fronts. It will be lionized for years to come as the standard to which other first person shooter games should hope to achieve. For the record, FPS is definitely not my genre of choice, mainly because I pretty much suck at shooting things and prioritizing my targets. And given how local it is (much like the shootings in Newtown earlier this year), my heart goes out to anyone who was personally affected or knows someone who was critically injured. However, Reverend Red Magehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02623896752253659976noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082758557055956380.post-49361141390986667932013-04-04T17:22:00.001-04:002013-04-04T17:22:26.358-04:00Facebook Has ADDI remember when I first joined Facebook back in 2006, it looked like a great way to connect with people in my life and share my thoughts, musings, and reminisce with them. Seven years later, it feels like it’s strayed so far from that. I have to wade through my news feed to see posts made by friends and acquaintances… the rest are advertisements, pages, “SHARE THIS NOW” spam, unimpressive Reverend Red Magehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02623896752253659976noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082758557055956380.post-74631297751641618882013-03-27T19:06:00.001-04:002013-03-27T19:06:39.503-04:00In Defense of MarriageI’ve said it on facebook, but it bears repeating. I’m a heterosexual, unmarried, humanist male. I don’t really plan on getting married anytime soon. Thing is, I don’t think it’s fair that I have a right to get married, but all my LGBTQ friends don’t. I’m not better than them. Why shouldn’t they have the same rights as other, heterosexual married couples? Oh, what’s that? You’ve got reasons? The last post I made was in May of 2012… it’s now February of 2013. Much time has passed, and many things have happened, but not anything that I believe hasn’t already been talked about elsewhere. Furthermore, this blog isn’t really supposed to be a personal public journal… it’s the musings of my Reverend Red Magehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02623896752253659976noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082758557055956380.post-66759105000458094592012-05-10T18:02:00.001-04:002012-05-10T18:02:19.789-04:00Obligatory NC Amendment Apoplectic FitI feel privileged to know every single person that has the ability to see this post. Because NOBODY on my friends list has made a timeline/wall post in SUPPORT of the amendment passed in NC. For that, you keep my faith in humanity leveled. Anyway, to make a long story short, the gaming sessions revolve around a group of college kids who have learned that they are half-fey and end up becoming agents of the Library of Alexandria, thought to be lost to the annals of time. After this weekend and all it encompassed, a previous facebook post I made rings true; from this point forward, I’m not going to assume that Reverend Red Magehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02623896752253659976noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082758557055956380.post-13723015975316552332011-06-06T23:25:00.001-04:002011-06-06T23:25:02.641-04:00Atheist PrideToday was Atheist Pride Day. Although I couldn’t wear green (I’ve got nothing green in my wardrobe. Spare me.), I think I should make up for it by telling my story, why I’m an atheist, and why I think that garners respect.
